I guess if there are six Pictures that sum up a decade, it might be these!
The night that people in London realised that the people in the rest of the UK (generally speaking) don't think the same... AT ANY COST.
That people in Scotland would rather be part of Europe than part of the UK.
I guess that a keyword for the next decade will be tribalism!

More than 370 New Jersey National Guard (NJNG) Soldiers and Airmen are assisting election officials in 19 counties by performing duties in support of the General Election. This is the first time the NJNG has supported a general election. The Citizen Soldiers and Airmen will primarily assist in processing vote-by-mail ballots under the supervision of county election officials, a mission successfully executed during New Jersey’s Primary Election in July. This state active-duty mission is being undertaken at the request of the County Boards of Elections. This support is an extension of the Guard’s active role in preventing the spread of COVID-19 in New Jersey. (New Jersey National Guard photo by Mark C. Olsen)

Mixed media.
This is based on a cartoon drawn by Peter Brookes in The Times on 14th April, which has been scanned, printed on to ink jet paper and then transfer printed using Acrylic Gloss Medium on to calico. I have then further enhanced the image by overpainting it with pigment paint.
The pin cushion is decorated with various scraps of fabric from other projects and finished with two buttons.
As with all my political pieces this is not a personal view of a politician, or policies, but a snap shot of what the media are reporting at the time. I chose this image as Mr Cameron looked suitably terrified at the prospect of having pins stuck in him!
In this part of Leicester you can choose from Keith Vaz (Labour Party), Sujata Barot (Independent) and Dominoes (Pizza Party).
Keith Vaz has had a massive majority for years. Revelations about this private life have no doubt dented this a little.
Just over a week after the Conservative Party formed their first majority government for nearly twenty years, people took to the streets of Cardiff to voice their distrust of the UK's largest, right wing party
He was in and everyone knew it.

One way to get noticed on twitter is to perpetuate half-truths:
"Sad to hear that UK parliament lost its *only* MP with a science degree @julianhuppert #GE2015 #ukelections2015 #GeneralElection"
Turns out, its not quite true:

Questionable nationalist political rhetoric delivered through my letterbox. Must be an election coming up or something..
Straight into the (paper recycling) bin.
Traditionally the Tories don't go down massively well here. I'm looking forward to seeing what happens to pretty much all the election posters

Class War election candidate Adam Clifford canvases in Soho London 11.04.2015
Cross-dressing Class War election candidate for the City of London & Westminster Adam Clifford held a colourful political canvassing parade through the streets of Soho, loudly and humourously condemning the gentrification of Soho which, he claims, is rapidly erasing the proud counter-cultural history of the area with pop-up boutiques, endless hipster cake shops and ownership by faceless foreign corporations. Working class residents, sex workers and many independent traders in Soho are being forced out of the area by evictions and rising rents as landlords and property developers clamour to increase their wealth at the expense of the poor who are being dislocated and purged from London's most vibrant district.

Labour Party Election Manifesto 2011
One Ireland - Jobs, Reform, Fairness
Jobs
Put jobs and growth first. That means renegotiating the EU-IMF deal to include a jobs strategy, to share the debt burden with bondholders, to reduce the interest rate, and to leave room for Ireland's economy to grow.
Build on our strengths. Labour has specific plans for job creation in Ireland's agri-food industry, tourism, renewable energy, creative industries, clean technology, and retail; for turning scientific research into jobs; and for developing new markets for Irish exports.
Invest in jobs and training. Labour's €500 million Jobs Fund will fund new ideas to grow jobs in strategic sectors of the economy, while our plan for a Strategic Investment Bank will provide credit to grow businesses and build vital infrastructure. The Jobs Fund will also provide 60,000 new education and training opportunities to help those out of work to get back into employment.
Make next generation broadband happen. Labour's plan brings together private sector funding in an innovative co-op to build a high-speed, next generation broadband network.
The stadium was full. There was not enough space to accommodate everyone.
